The joy of children is endless and priceless. And their joy is ours as well! And what brings them the most joy in the summer? The water and the sun, the sand and the waves, the pools and the 'sliders', like many of the smaller children say. We therefore chose to take the children from the '22 Decembrie' Day Centre, opened by Hope and Homes for Children Romania in Baia Mare, to the pool for fun, splashing around and cooling down in the hot summer days.
July was a full month for CLUB HOPE, the project through which we propose to organise unforgettable birthdays for the children included in Hope and Homes for Children Romania services in Baia Mare. On this occasion we celebrated 11 children from 8 small family homes, organising all sorts of surprises and special moments with their colleagues and friends.
At the end of July, Hope and Homes for Children Romania and the County Sport Direction in Maramures organised a day of relaxation in the Regina Maria park in Baia Mare for 50 children included in the services developed by HHC in Sighetu Marmatiei and Baia Mare.
What could be more pleasant in the middle of the summer, after a school year filled with hard work, than a day at the pool? The baccalaureate exam promoted with flying colours, the successful competency exam and the school year finished with remarkable results for the youngsters in the Bradului small family home in Sighetu Marmatiei, made a trip to the pool more than worth it!
The summer holiday brought with it many wonderful surprises for the children at the ”22 Decembrie” Day Centre opened by Hope and Homes for Children Romania in Baia Mare. The attractive activities are really loved by the little ones, whether we’re referring to themed outings, creative workshops or watching captivating and fun movies, appropriate for their age.
The P. family is made up of the mother, eight children and a granddaughter. The father fell gravely ill and died, leaving behind a family that is struggling to stay together. The youngest son, Tudor, is 5 years old, and the eldest daughter, Claudia, is 20 and gave birth to a daughter of her own who is now 6 months old. The little girl’s father is also absent from their lives. Out of the eight children, two go to kindergarten, three go to school, and the three older children decided to leave school in order to help their mother.
On June 5th-15th, 2015, the children and youngsters from the ”Elena Doamna” placement centre and the ”Sf. Miha” small family homes opened by Hope and Homes for Children Romania in Botosani spent a short holiday at the farm in Popauti. For ten days, they participated in all of the farm’s activities and learned how to care for the animals.
Six children and their parents live in a house made up of two rooms and a third one in construction. The children’s father has been trying for a long time to renovate the home himself, so that his family can live in the decent conditions they deserve. He uses whatever materials he can find, obtained from used objects thrown out by others.
On May 15th we had the joy and honour of taking part in a special event in the lives of two people very dear to us: the wedding of Andreea and Claudiu, two youngsters who grew up in a small family home opened by Hope and Homes for Children Romania in Baia Mare.
Approximately one month ago, we encountered the Neculai family. Back then, the children were sleeping in wooden boxes, in an extremely damaged room, and even that they were meant to evacuate as soon as possible. The children’s destiny would have inevitably been to enter the protection system where, somewhat ironically, their mother also grew up.
