Amalia Enache, "Woman of the Year 2011" for the support given to the Hope and Homes for Children Romania organization(Română) Amalia Enache (prezentatoarea Ştirilor Nopţii de la PRO TV ) a fost desemnată “Femeia anului 2011”, pentru Implicare şi Responsabilitate Socială în cadrul Galei Femeia Anului 2011, organizată de revista Avantaje. Pentru hotărârea cu care anul trecut a susținut misiunea Hope and Homes for Children România (HHC România) de a închide toate centrele de plasament de tip vechi din România și de a muta copiii în medii cât mai apropiate de o familie, pentru toate interviurile acordate anul trecut, în care, înainte de a vorbi despre ea, a vorbit despre copiii care încă își trăiesc copilăriile în niște clădiri ca niște spitale municipale și pentru convingerea și emoția cu care a dat mai departe poveștile copiilor care au astăzi un loc căruia îi spun „acasă” și o familie, Amalia Enache a fost numită de către revista Avantaje “Femeia Anului 2011” la categoria Implicare şi Responsabilitate Socială.

HHC Romania participated in a European workshop on the integration of disabled persons into societyIn February 7th-9th, 2012, Bianca Stegeran, Project Manager for HHC Romania, participated in the “EU Disability Workshop”, a European project conducted by the Open University in London, Camden Town. The theme of the workshop was the integration of disabled persons in the various sectors of society. The workshop welcomed specialists from various fields, such as psychology and social assistance, from different universities and associations in Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Serbia, Austria, Great Britain, Croatia and Romania.

A new European programme gives companies the opportunity to benefit from a year of free counselling and training in integrating the international principles of social responsibilityThis year, the National Association of Exporters and Importers in Romania (ANEIR) has launched a European Project whose purpose is introducing the concept and practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Romania. As described in the project presentation, CSR refers to a sector of business practices in which investors take into account more than just obtaining direct and immediate benefits by also considering the positive external impact that companies can have upon the community in which they operate, upon the responsible use of the environment, the durable development of work practices and human resources.
