11 Brothers Raised in 11 Different Institutions

Serban is 21 years old. When he was 12, he was institutionalized, after being found on the streets in a state of precarious health. He was abusing hallucinogenic substances. Serban was born in a family with 11 children. His parents had separated and the breakdown of Serban’s family was caused by his father’s excessive drinking and his mother’s immoral behaviour.
In life, we rely on the souls of several people. We ourselves are some of those people.

I believe that we are born knowing. While living in our mother’s uterus, we learn how a heartbeat sounds and how emotions vibrate on our skin. And when we go out into the world, we already know how to be happy and sad and calm or indignant. From the very first moment, we know how to scream when we are in pain, to smile when we are comfortable, to cry when we feel nostalgic.

In February 7th-9th, 2012, Bianca Stegeran, Project Manager for HHC Romania, participated in the “EU Disability Workshop”, a European project conducted by the Open University in London, Camden Town. The theme of the workshop was the integration of disabled persons in the various sectors of society. This year, the National Association of Exporters and Importers in Romania (ANEIR) has launched a European Project whose purpose is introducing the concept and practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Romania.
